Prospective Teachers' Perception on the Role of ICT In Classroom Teaching

Abstract

This study investigates prospective teachers' perceptions of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) integration in classroom teaching. Using a mixed-methods approach with 250 B.Ed. trainees in Tamil Nadu, the research examines attitudes, perceived usefulness, self-efficacy and barriers to ICT adoption. Findings reveal a strongly positive perception (mean 4.21/5) with significant gender differences, while infrastructure and training emerge as the strongest barriers. Implications for teacher education curricula are discussed.
