GRTJEST
For Editors
Editorial workflow, decision-making standards and responsibilities for GRTJEST editors.
Editorial responsibilities
Editors are accountable for everything published in GRTJEST. Decisions must rest solely on scholarly merit, independent of authors'' nationality, gender, institution, seniority or beliefs.
Workflow
- Desk assessment — check scope, formatting, ethics declarations and similarity report.
- Reviewer assignment — invite at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
- Evaluation — weigh reviewer reports, request a third opinion where they conflict.
- Decision — communicate a clear decision with a concise rationale.
- Production — verify copy-editing, metadata, DOI registration and issue placement.
Decision types
- Accept — publishable as submitted or after copy-editing.
- Minor revision — addressable without a further review round.
- Major revision — substantive changes required; returns to reviewers.
- Reject — out of scope, methodologically unsound, or ethically compromised.
Confidentiality and conflicts
Editors must not disclose manuscript details to anyone other than the authors, reviewers and editorial staff. An editor with a conflict of interest must recuse and hand the manuscript to another editor.
Corrections and retractions
Follow COPE flowcharts for allegations of misconduct. Publish corrections, expressions of concern or retractions promptly and transparently.
